Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq al-Ibiyah, has announced that women no longer need Muharram to perform Hajj or Umrah.
While giving a press conference at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, Dr. Tawfiq said that women coming to Saudi Arabia from any part of the world for Hajj or Umrah do not need Muharram.
He said that Muslims coming to Saudi Arabia with any kind of visa can pay Umrah.
The Saudi minister said that more than 200 billion riyals are being spent on the expansion of Masjid-ul-Haram in Makkah Sharif and this is the historic expansion of Baitullah, which is in progress.
He said that a platform called ‘Nasak’ is being developed in which facilities will be provided for Umrah pilgrims and Hajj.
Umrah permit can also be obtained in a short time through this platform after which the visa will be issued in just 24 hours.
