Two Chinese giant pandas

In the early morning of the 19th, two Chinese giant pandas “Sihai” and “Jingjing” arrived at Hamad International Airport in Doha, the capital of Qatar, by special plane.

According to the giant panda protection and research cooperation agreement reached between China and Qatar, the two giant pandas will live in Qatar for the next 15 years. This is the first pair of giant pandas ushered in in the Middle East.

It is reported that “Sihai” is a 3-year-old female giant panda, and “Jingjing” is a 4-year-old male giant panda. They will then be transported to the Giant Panda Pavilion, 50 kilometers north of Doha, where they will be quarantined for three weeks upon arrival.

The Giant Panda Pavilion is specially built by Qatar for two Chinese giant pandas, with complete functions to ensure the comfortable life of the giant pandas. The Giant Panda Pavilion is expected to open to the public on the eve of the Qatar World Cup, which will also add more Chinese elements to this World Cup.
