A Southwest Airlines pilot opened the cockpit window to retrieve a passenger’s lost phone.

A video of the pilot taking the passenger’s lost phone from the airport staff before take off is going viral on social media.

A Southwest Airlines passenger plane had completed boarding at an airport in California, the crew indicated to the pilot that the passenger’s phone had been left at the airport.

Seeing the crew gesturing, the pilot immediately opened the cockpit window and held out his hand to receive the phone, which was later handed over to its rightful owner.

Social media users are praising the pilot and airport staff for getting the phone to the plane as soon as it was found, the pilot opened the cockpit window instead of opening the passenger door.
