Forced treatment of minorities in India

The US Commission on International Religious Freedom has expressed serious concerns about religious intolerance and coercive treatment of minorities in India.

According to foreign media, the US Commission has demanded from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give India the status of a country of special concern for religious freedom.

According to the report, even in 2022, the Indian government has continued the series of forced religious conversions, sexual violence and religious extremism.

The report states that the Indian government has been involved in destruction of property including places of worship, arbitrary detention and harassment of Muslims and Muslim journalists.

In its report, the American Commission on International Religious Freedom further stated that the journalists of Occupied Kashmir, Muhammad Zubair and Siddiq Kapan, have been subjected to illegal persecution by the Modi government.
