Former President of China Jiang Zemin

China’s former President Jiang Zemin died at the age of 96. The Chinese flag was flown at half-mast in his mourning.

Former President Jiang died of leukemia and multiple boody organ failure in Shanghai this afternoon (November 30), according to the report of Chinese News Agency.

It should be noted that when he succeeded Deng Xiaoping in 1989, China was in the early stages of economic modernization.

However, when Jiang Zemin retired as president in the year of 2003, China was a member of the World Trade Organization.

Beijing had won the Olympics 2008 and the country was well going on its way to superpower status.

President Jiang Zemin is survived by his wife Wang Yiping and two sons.
