The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won the municipal corporation elections in the capital of India, New Delhi.
According to India Today, after this success, the Aam Aadmi Party has ended the 15-year rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the local government of Delhi.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal thanked the citizens of Delhi in his address after the party’s victory and said that they have chosen their son and brother to manage the affairs of the Delhi Municipal Corporation. .
It should be noted that in the elections of Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party has won 134 seats while rival party BJP has won 104 seats. Congress was restricted to only 9 seats.
The Municipal Corporation has a total of 250 seats while 126 seats are required to form the government. Aam Aadmi Party has won eight seats more than the majority number.

On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the opposition parties to work together for the development of the national capital.
I want to say to the candidates of all parties that politics was till today. After today we have to work together. I ask the Congress and the BJP to work together with the Aam Aadmi Party.
“Now you are not a BJP councilor, but you are a Delhi councilor.”
He has further said that ‘we need the cooperation of the central government and the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to improve Delhi.’

Arvind Kejriwal said that he wants to work with everyone to ‘eliminate corruption and negative politics’.
It should be noted that in the 2017 municipal corporation elections, the BJP won 180 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party managed to win only 48 seats and the Congress 30 seats.
