Nobel Prize-winning social activist Malala Yousafzai has condemned the Taliban government’s move to ban Afghan women from pursuing higher education.
Malala Yousafzai reacted on the micro-blogging website Twitter and wrote that the Taliban can close the doors of all classrooms and universities in the country but they can never close the minds of women.
He further wrote that Taliban cannot stop girls from getting knowledge; they cannot kill girls’ quest to learn.
It should be noted that the Taliban has banned women from entering universities in Afghanistan on Tuesday.
A statement issued by the Minister for Higher Education Nida Muhammad Nadeem said that you all are hereby informed that the said order to suspend the education of women shall be implemented till further notice.
This decision of the Afghan government is being condemned around the world and the United Nations has asked the Taliban government to immediately cancel this ban.
