The Minister of the Armed Forces of France has expressed his determination to strengthen military cooperation with Lebanon.

He said this in a meeting with Lebanon’s caretaker defense minister Morse Salim.

French Minister Sebastien Licorneau said that he was asked by President Macron to prepare a plan for military cooperation between the two countries.

He said that President Macron wants the capabilities of Lebanon’s armed forces to be improved.

It should be noted that a severe economic crisis continues in Lebanon; the World Bank has declared it the worst economic crisis in modern history.

The French minister was in Lebanon to celebrate the New Year with UN peacekeepers.
