In Iran, the daughter of former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has been sentenced to 5 years in prison.
According to a foreign news agency, Faiza Hashmi, a human rights activist, has been charged by the public prosecutor with ‘propaganda against the system’.
Faiza’s lawyer Nida Shams, said that her client has been sentenced to 5 years in prison, but this is not the final decision.
He said that the charges against Faiza are not true, due to which the sentence cannot be declared final.
It should be noted that Faiza Hashmi was also imprisoned in 2012 and her political activities were banned.
Faiza Hashmi was arrested last year for protesting the death of Mehsa Amini.
