In Kyiv, they demanded that international banks finally leave the Russian market
Moscow, January 11. The National Bank of Ukraine demanded that international banks finally leave the Russian market, according to a statement published on Wednesday on the page of the Ukrainian regulator on the social network.
“International banks should finally implement their statements and exit the Russian market,” the statement said.
As noted in the regulator, the National Bank has repeatedly addressed and held meetings with the international financial community, urging the banking and insurance sectors to stop business activities in Russia and Belarus . Among the banks addressed by the National Bank are Raiffeisen Bank International, Intesa Sanpaolo, OTP Bank, ING Bank, Credit Agricole . In addition, it is announced that meetings will be held with the management and shareholders of these groups, during which the Ukrainian National Bank was assured that international banks continue to study the future of their branches in Russia, while, according to the message, the Ukrainian regulator cannot report success.
The National Bank of Ukraine announced the availability of information about the provision by banks belonging to international financial groups of preferential lending terms for participants in a special military operation in Ukraine and their use of the names DPR and LPR , which, according to the Ukrainian regulator, is evidence that the international banks statements differ from the actual state of affairs.
