Indian locomotive inspector committed suicide by lying on the track (video screenshot)
Overseas Network, February 1. According to Indian media reports such as “India Today”, on January 26 local time, a chief locomotive inspector in Mumbai, India committed suicide by lying on the track. Passengers witnessed the whole process on the platform.
Surveillance footage from the train station platform showed the inspector running quickly from the platform onto the tracks as the train pulled in. Several passengers on the platform were shocked to see the inspector being run over by the train.
Local police received complaints that the inspector’s suicide was caused by work stress. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.
