A tragic incident has taken place in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh where a 16-year-old girl was dragged on the road by her hair after a 47-year-old man refused to marry her.
According to NDTV, a man was arrested in Raipur city of Chhattisgarh for attacking a young girl with a sharp instrument and then dragging her by the hair on the road.
The situation turned alarming in Gadhiari area of Raipur on Saturday when a 47-year-old man was seen dragging an injured 16-year-old girl by her hair on the road.
According to the police, the accused and the victim girl have been identified.
The condition of the girl seen in the video is critical and is being monitored by doctors.
According to SSP Prashant Agarwal, the victim girl used to work at the shop of accused Omkar Tiwari alias Manoj.
Explaining the incident, the SSP said that the accused assaulted the victim girl for leaving her job at the shop and not agreeing to marry her.
According to police sources, the accused had offered marriage to the girl. But the girl’s mother refused to give up the relationship, in which the accused attacked the girl with a sharp tool and then grabbed her by the hair. dragged on the road in front of the public.
Police sources further said that after the incident, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused.
