A Muslim couple got married in a temple in the city of Shimla in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
According to Indian TV channel NDTV, a Muslim couple got married in a Hindu temple in Rampur area of Shimla district on Sunday to promote religious harmony in the society.

The Muslim couple got married at the Thakur Satyanarayan Temple, which is run under the auspices of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
The newly wedded couple got married in the temple in the presence of Nikah Khan, witnesses and a lawyer.
The purpose of marrying a Muslim couple in a temple is to promote religious harmony and brotherhood among the people.
Vinay Sharma, general secretary of the temple, says that this temple is run by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and RSS. Both these parties are considered anti-Muslim, but here a Muslim couple got married in the premises of a Hindu temple.
The girl’s father, Mahendra Singh Malik, says, “My daughter got married in the Satya Narayan temple. The people of this city, be it the administrators or the temple trustees, have given a message of positivity and solidarity.
He further said that ‘Through this, the people of Rampur have given a message of brotherhood to everyone and no one should be under the misconception that our brotherhood has been damaged.’
Mahendra Singh Malik also said that his daughter is an M.Tech civil engineer as well as a gold medalist and his son-in-law is also a civil engineer.
