At least 22 people have died and many others have been injured as a result of severe storms and tornadoes in the United States.
According to the Reuters news agency, officials say that on Friday night, deaths due to tornadoes were reported in the US states of Illinois, Arkansas, Indiana and Tennessee.
During this severe storm, many properties including houses have also been damaged.
Rural areas and cities are presenting a scene of devastation.
At least five people have died in Arkansas, four in Illinois and three in Indiana, according to officials.
One person was killed and 40 others were injured, including five seriously, when the roof of a local theater collapsed in Blouder, Illinois.
According to police, a concert was in progress when the theater was hit by the tornado, where 260 people were present.
The Meteorological Department has warned that there will be thunderstorms in the eastern part of the country and there is a possibility of power grids being affected and trees falling due to the storm.
According to CNN, more than 50 tornadoes were reported in at least seven states.
More than 34,000 people in Arkansas are affected by power outages.
William Williams, who works at a local supermarket in the Arkansas capital of Little Rock, said he was “thankful to be alive” after the tornado hit his neighborhood.
He said that when the cyclone passed, he came out of the market and saw that people were injured as a result of the storm.
A week ago, tornadoes wreaked havoc in the southern states of Mississippi and Alabama.
At least 23 people were killed in the devastation caused by the tornadoes.
