According to professor and cancer specialist Dr. Fahad Al-Khuzairi, Ramadan is the greatest time to cleanse the colon (large intestine).
Dr. Al-Khuzairi, according to the website, said that if one wanted to cleanse their colon in a month other than Ramadan, they should abstain from eating for sixteen hours and only drink water.
According to Dr. Al-Khuzairi, breaking the fast in Ramadan should only include water and dates, followed by a salad, in order to cleanse the colon.
Fried and baked foods should be avoided for two hours during this period. Take soup and boiled vegetables or salad two hours after iftar. Dinner should be finished in three to four hours;
