Indian officials say that four military personnel have been killed in a shooting incident at a military station in the state of Punjab.
According to the news agency Reuters, four unknown persons opened fire in the Bathinda military station, and the search is on.

SPS Parmar, a senior police officer in Punjab, has said that the incident was not a “terrorist attack” and took place in the station canteen.
The Indian Army has said in a statement that after encircling the area, the search operation is ongoing while more details are being ascertained.

It has been said in the statement that the firing took place at the military station around 4:30 in the morning.
This military station is at a distance of 280 km from New Delhi. It houses most of the soldiers’ families and is a residential area.
