According to news agencies, Japan issued an alert for residents of the northern island of Hokkaido after the missile test, which has now been withdrawn.
Japanese officials say the emergency warning system incorrectly predicted that a North Korean missile would land near their island.
The Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, has called a meeting of the National Security Council after the missile test.
The Defence Minister of Japan says that the missile did not fall within the borders of Japan; in this regard, he is analysing the missile test for more details.
On the other hand, South Korea says that it is on high alert after the missile test and is in close contact with the US in this regard.
It should be noted that a few days ago, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that in order to confront South Korea, he will work on strengthening the country’s war resistance in a more practical and aggressive manner.
