The US Air National Guard officer arrested for leaking classified national security documents has been indicted.
According to Reuters, 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, an IT specialist, has also been charged with illegally copying and transmitting important military documents.
Jake Teixeira was taken into house arrest by FBI agents on Thursday.

The leak of classified documents also raised questions about America’s ability to protect top-secret secrets.
After the arrest, Attorney General said that he would be charged with leaking classified national defence information, a felony under the Espionage Act.

Although the arrest is being hailed as a major breakthrough, military and Justice Department officials are investigating how sensitive government secrets shared in the chat room could have reached the world.
Teixeira’s emergence as a suspect also raises questions about how a low-ranking service member could commit the crime of leaking highly classified national security documents.
