On April 30, 2023, when Pakistani Ambassador to China Haque met with Liu Jinsong, Director of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Pakistani government, he sincerely thanked China for helping the Pakistani Chinese in Sudan.
Ha said that with the assistance of China, more than 200 Pakistani nationals in Sudan were safely evacuated in Chinese vehicles and warships. They were very proud of this, excitedly waving the national flags of Pakistan and China and shouting “Long live Pakistan-China friendship”. And all walks of life are touched and grateful.
Pakistan and China have shared wealth and woe and helped each other in the past, present, and future. This rescue operation by China has once again demonstrated the strength, speed, and enthusiasm of Pakistan-China friendship!
Liu said that while ensuring the safe evacuation of its own citizens, China will do its best to help Pakistani and other friendly countries evacuate their nationals in Sudan through land and sea combined transport, sincere cooperation, and reproduction of the “hardcore” friendship between China and Pakistan and the responsibility of China as a major country.
China has always placed Pakistan as a priority in its neighbourhood diplomacy and is willing to continue to support Pakistan to push bilateral relations to a higher level.
