On May 9, the Russian capital, Moscow, held a military parade on Red Square commemorating the 78th anniversary of Russia’s victory in the Great Patriotic War. This year, a total of more than 10,000 officers and soldiers from various Russian services and cadets and 125 ground military weapons and equipment such as wheeled, tracked, and air defence systems of the Russian army passed the Red Square for inspection, including Tiger-M reconnaissance vehicles, boomerang armoured vehicles, special protective vehicles of the Ahmed Army, Yars, “Iskander-M” tactical missile systems, S-400 air defence missile systems, etc. Unlike previous years, this year’s aerial military parade was cancelled.

This year, the Russian Kursk Region, Belgorod Region, Kaluga Region, Orel Region, Pskov Region, and other places have cancelled large-scale mass activities such as the May 9th Victory Day military parade due to security and other factors. Before the military parade on Red Square, cities such as Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, and Perm in the Far East and Siberia had successively held Victory Day military parades.
