A well-known folk singer was injured by a bullet during a live show in the Indian state of Bihar and was rushed to the hospital.
According to the India Times newspaper, the police say that Bhojpuri singer Nisha Upadhyay was performing in a live show when she was hit by gunfire during the celebration.
The police of Janta Bazar area in Bihar’s Saran district learned about the incident from a video posted on social media, after which they reached the spot.
According to the police, Nisha Upadhyay was shot in the left thigh, after which she was shifted to the hospital, where her condition is said to be out of danger.
Art and Culture Minister Jitendra Kumar Roy condemned the incident and said firing during celebrations is a criminal act, and people should understand this.

He said that I had been told about this. This is highly condemnable, and action should be taken against the accused. People should know that celebratory firing at public gatherings, places of worship, weddings, and any kind of event is a criminal act, even if it is done with licenced weapons.
The minister said that the accused should be punished. I am sure the police will investigate how the incident took place, who was involved, and how the shot was fired.
