The FIR registered against the head of the Wrestling Federation of India says that he harassed female athletes.
According to NDTV, on the complaint of seven female wrestlers, many others have been registered in the FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a Member of Parliament belonging to India’s ruling party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and head of the Wrestling Federation of India. According to the FIR, “Brijbhushan Sharan Singh asked the women personal questions of a flirtatious nature to check their breath while offering to have sex in exchange for medical expenses.”
It may be noted that two FIRs were registered against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh at Delhi’s Connaught Police Station on April 28, adding to the complaints of women wrestlers and the father of a minor athlete.
On the other hand, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has denied all the allegations and issued another statement in this regard on Wednesday.
He said that if even a single charge against me is proven, I will hang myself. If they (the wrestlers) have any evidence, present it in court. I am ready to face any punishment.
Women wrestlers who are calling for the federation head to be sacked have accused him of sexual harassment.
Some of the athletes who complained claimed that the device being used to record their statements had been switched off several times.
One of the wrestlers feared that the entire statement may not have been recorded after the device was turned off, which was intended to benefit the accused.
The complaints also stated that the athletes started staying in groups after leaving their rooms to avoid the accused, who called the women over one by one and asked inappropriate questions that they had to answer. was offensive to
