According to police officials, two people were killed and five were injured during a shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in the American state of Virginia.
According to the French news agency AFP, this is the latest shooting incident in the country.
Police Chief Rick Edwards told reporters that the incident happened around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Richmond, Virginia, where high school students were celebrating their graduation outside a theatre.
An 18-year-old student and a 36-year-old man are among those killed in the firing. One of the five injured people is in critical condition. Rick Edwards added that there was a lot of chaos at the scene.
He said that a 19-year-old suspect managed to flee the scene immediately but was later arrested. Several guns were also recovered from the crime scene.
