The Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Anti-Normalisation announced a massive public mobilisation today, rejecting the visit to Morocco by the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset at the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The large protests announced by the Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Against Normalisation, which were organised today, will take place in front of the Parliament headquarters in the capital, Rabat, in Africa and dominate the continent. She added, “The Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Against Normalisation, as it expresses its absolute rejection of this ill-fated visit, calls on all supporters of the Palestinian cause in the Moroccan parliament to rise up against the Zionist Knesset speaker and his accompanying delegation in the parliament hall and to announce their refusal to normalise relations with the occupiers of Palestine.” And it announces that it will oppose this visit with various forms and struggle initiatives, foremost of which is organising a protest stand in front of Parliament on June 7, 2023, at seven o’clock in the evening.
The same statement stated that the formation of the so-called “Moroccan-Zionist Parliamentary Friendship Group”, in mid-May “was only an introduction and part of the preliminary arrangements for this visit,” , “which has become very close and comprehensive in all areas without exception.”
This visit also comes, the Moroccan Front adds, “immediately after another visit of a Zionist minister, she visited and toured Morocco and concluded agreements in the field of transportation and communications,” noting that this field has known all forms of cooperation decades ago.
And the Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Against Normalisation, which includes dozens of organisations and parties against normalisation, highlighted in the same statement that was reported by Arab news websites and newspapers, as well as the Algerian News Agency, that “the appetite of the Zionists has grown, and the goal today is to make Morocco play the role of the godfather of the Zionist entity for more infiltrating Africa and strengthening its control over our continent,” explaining that this control is based on “igniting civil wars, arms deals, and land acquisition…”.
In the same context, the Moroccan Justice and Development Party announced its absolute rejection of the upcoming visit that the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset intends to make today to Morocco, considering that “his visit to Parliament, if it took place, would be a disgrace.”
The head of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party, Abdallah Boano, confirmed the rejection of his political formation and the parliamentary group for this visit, expressing his regret at what the “normalisation rush” has reached in Morocco, “although the ceiling for resuming relations with Israel is set by the Royal Court’s communiqué issued in December. “2020,” he said.
The Moroccan parliamentarian said that this visit comes at a time when the Zionist entity is still killing Palestinian civilians and its ministers are defying the feelings of Muslims with provocative visits to Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem. He added that his party’s parliamentary group had taken the decision not to participate in the “Moroccan-Zionist Parliamentary Friendship Group” since day one, before announcing it and publishing the names of its members.
The Moroccan Association for Human Rights (the largest human rights association in Morocco) had expressed its rejection and objection to this ill-fated visit. It also expressed its absolute rejection of the so-called “Moroccan-Zionist Friendship Committee”, appealing to the Moroccan people and its various components to renounce and boycott it and to expose the backgrounds of its formation that fall within the context of deepening the manifestations of treacherous normalisation with the criminal Zionist entity.
