Indian airline IndiGo

India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has said it will buy 500A-320 aircraft from French aircraft maker Airbus.

According to Indian media, IndiGo’s purchase of 500 aircraft from Airbus. It will be the largest order in the history of commercial aviation.
“This new order will create a new strategic relationship between IndiGo and Airbus. That will be unprecedentedly deep,” IndiGo said in a statement.

According to Indian Airlines, the fuel-efficient A320 New Family aircraft will help reduce operational costs. And provide fuel savings with higher levels of durability.
“It is difficult to overstate the benefits of IndiGo’s historic order for 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft,” said IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers. By ordering about 1,000 new aircraft over the next 10 years, IndiGo will be able to fulfil its mission of economic generation, social connectivity, and transportation in India.

He further said that this order is a clear expression of IndiGo’s contribution to the development of India.
According to IndiGo’s statement, “IndiGo is operating more than 300 ships today, and with previous orders, their number is 480, which will be delivered between now and the end of this decade.”

Along with this, another 500 ships will be ordered between 2030 and 2035. IndiGo’s order book will have around 1,000 ships delivered over the next 10 years. IndiGo’s book includes the A320 New, A321 New, and A321 XLR.
