A British airline has kicked 19 passengers off from a plane for being overweight.
According to the newspaper The Independent, the British airline ‘EasyJet’ from Lanzarote to Liverpool took off 19 passengers from the flight. Because the plane could not fly due to excess weight.
The incident took place on July 5, when the flight was delayed due to bad weather and excessive weight.
The plane was scheduled to take off at 9:45 p.m. local time. But did not take off from the Spanish airport until 11:30 p.m., after which passengers were asked to disembark voluntarily.
In a video uploaded on the social networking website Twitter. The pilot of the plane said, “Thank you all for coming here.” Because there are so many of you, our aircraft today are too heavy.
The pilot added that ‘Lanzarote has a short runway and the weight of the aircraft is high, plus there are winds that are not at all suitable for flying the plane, as is the weather on Lanzarote at the moment, before departure. It is very heavy.’
The pilot message
The pilot further said that there are many reasons for the delay: the heat is very high, the wind is very strong, and the direction of the plane is not right. Now you guys must understand what will happen next and what I am here to say. I have spoken to my operations team, and this problem can be solved by reducing the weight of the aircraft.
The pilot then invited the 20 passengers to get off the flight and not go to ‘Liverpool tonight’.
The pilot also said that EasyJet will give gifts of up to 500 euros to non-flying passengers.

In a statement to The Independent, an EasyJet spokesperson said 19 passengers had voluntarily agreed to disembark.
“EasyJet can confirm that EasyJet 3364 from Lanzarote to Liverpool was overweight and 19 passengers voluntarily decided to board another flight,” a spokesperson said.
“This is normal procedure in such a situation, and all airlines have these guidelines regarding weight.”
