Competing with Threads, TikTok has introduced a new feature

Online video sharing platform TikTok has introduced a new text-only posting option for users.

According to the New York Times, TikTok users can now post text only. After which the social media app is no longer limited to short videos.
The new feature comes on the heels of Twitter management rebranding the platform to the ‘X’ company. On Sunday and Meta‘s launch of the Threads app this month.

TikTok announced the feature in a blog post on Monday. But some users say they started seeing the change as early as June.
The company wrote in its blog post that ‘with the text post feature, we are expanding the boundaries of creating content for everyone on TikTok.’
With this new feature, users can post without the videos and photos that is famous for.

Interestingly, TikTok text posts can be upload with music, background colours, and stickers, just like videos and photos.
Keep in mind that Tik Tok is use by more than a billion people every month, of whom 150 million are from the United States.
