The world’s largest passenger ship (cruise ship) is ready to set sail next year

The world’s largest passenger ship (a cruise ship) is ready to go on a journey next year.
According to the French news agency AFP, the construction of Royal Caribbean’s new flagship. Icon of the Seas, is in its final stages at the Turku Shipyard on the southwest coast of Finland.

This ship will depart on its maiden voyage in January next year.
“As far as we know, it’s the largest cruise ship in the world right now,” says Tim Meyer, CEO of Meyer Turku, the ship’s builder.
The ship looks more like a village than a ship. With a colourful water park and more than 20 decks that can accommodate up to 10,000 people.

The most striking feature of the cruise ship’s design, which will be build in 2021, is the large glass dome mount on its front section. The ship was launch in June of this year for water testing.

The Icon of the Seas weighs 250,000 tonnes. It is five times larger than the Titanic. The ship will surpass Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, which is currently the world’s largest ship.

It should be note here that the shipping industry suffered a lot during the Corona virus epidemic. And then questions started to arise about whether this industry would be able to stand again or not. But now passengers are returning to the cruise companies again.

The Cruise Lines International Association has predicted that 3.15 million people will board cruise ships this year, surpassing pre-coronavirus numbers.
