In the case against the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, in America. Two leaders of the right-wing organisation ‘Proud Boys’ have been sentence to long prison terms.
According to the British news agency Reuters, Proud Boys leader Ethan Nordin was sentence to 18 years in prison for treason. The largest sentence ever handed down in the case.
Dominic Pizzola, another leader of the Proud Boys, although he did not play a central role. Has been convict of serious crimes, including obstructing government action and assaulting the police.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly has said, “If we can’t have a peaceful transition of power in this country. We can’t do anything.”
In his statement before the judge, Ethan Nordin called the January 6 incident a “tragedy” and said he went to Capitol Hill to be a leader and keep people out of trouble. His wife and sister pleaded for mercy.
Ath Nordin’s lawyer, Nick Smith, argued for a sentence of 15 to 21 months.
Dominic Pizzola’s lawyers asked for their client to be sentence to almost five years in prison.
Steven Metcalf, one of Pizzola’s attorneys, told the judge that Pizzola did it all in the “heat of the moment.”
“I stand before you with remorse,” Dominic Pizzola said in an emotional speech in court. I shouldn’t have crossed the barriers on Capitol Hill that day.’
Prosecutors had requested that Dominic Pizzola be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
It should be noted that after the victory of Joe Biden in the US presidential election in November last year, former President Donald Trump gave a provocative speech on January 6 this year in which he incited his supporters to fight.
Four people were kill in the violence that followed the speech, and a Capitol Police officer was kill the next day. In addition, four of the police officers who defended Capitol Hill later committed suicide.
A total of 140 police officers and personnel were injure in the attack on Capitol Hill.
