You may have seen girls or women with long hair setting world record, but can any guy set records with long hair?
A 15-year-old boy from the state of Uttar Pradesh, Sadakdeep Singh Chahal, has set a Guinness World Record for the longest hair. He has never had his hair cut and is 4 feet, 9.5 inches tall.
Sadakdeep Singh washes his long hair twice a week. It takes them at least an hour to wash, dry, and brush their hair each time.
“If my mother didn’t help, it would have taken a whole day,” he said.
According to Guinness World Records, Sadakdeep Singh usually covers his hair with a turban, as is the Sikh custom. His family and many of his friends are Sikhs, but none of them have such long hair.
He said that some of his family members were surprise to know that his hair had grown so long.
When Sadakdeep Singh told his relatives that his hair had set a world record. Some of them were in disbelief, Guinness World Records said.
‘They thought I was joking with them, and it took a bit of evidence to convince them.’
As a child, Sadakdeep Singh was sometimes tease by his friends because of his long hair. When he was drying it outside his house.
“I didn’t like being make fun of for my hair,” says Sadakdeep Singh.
He said that he now considers his long hair a part of his identity.
